If you are new here, this website allows you to look at a map of places that are participating in Halloween. The idea is to help you plan your trick-or-treating route.
Over the years, I've found myself looking down many streets that do not have anyone participating, so why not help find the places?
To start, all you need is an email address. When you register, you'll receive a verification code. (I'm a big believer in NOT sharing email addresses or personal information, including any GPS data.)
Once registered, you can follow the links to add a location, or "spot."
The app will ask for your location to zoom in close to where you are. If your location is not correct, you can click on the map to mark a precise location. (If you have any location concerns, please just mark on the road in front of your place.)
All you need to do is choose an icon or leave it as is, then click the save button.
I have a time limit for adding spots so users can't spam the server. Please feel free to spot other locations that you find throughout the evening of Halloween.
There is an option to delete all your added spots if you choose to. On the home page, you will also find an option to delete your user account.
This is a hobby app that I have coded in my spare time. I am covering all server, database, and domain costs myself. As stated before, no information is being shared, and all sensitive data is fully encrypted/hashed.
